Ongoing Innovation
Violence and trauma affects each child and family differently. As a result, what works for one
child may not work for another. Consequently, JUCONI is constantly seeking out evermore effective
techniques to heal the deep emotional wounds that violence inflicts. This ongoing process relies
heavily on JUCONI’s two decades of experience, but also considers the continual input from some of
the world’s foremost experts in the fields of trauma and attachment as well as family and individual
therapy.
This group of experts forms the JUCONI Technical Support Group. Via constant communication, visits,
and hands on training, the Technical Support Group helps ensure JUCONI’s ability to continually provide
effective solutions to the children and families most affected by violence.
The JUCONI Technical Support group is composed of the following experts:
- Dr. Sandra Bloom: Founder of the Sanctuary Model (based in the Sanctuary Institute, Andrus Children’s
Center, Yonkers, New York State) who has provided extensive training to JUCONI on implementing the
Sanctuary Model.
- Dr. Janine Roberts: Formerly of the University of Massachusetts and renowned family therapist and
author.
- Dr. Eliana Gil: Director of Clinical Services of Childhelp based in Fairfax, Virginia and creator of
Play Therapy.
- Emilia Downing: Department of Families at the Tavistock Clinic, London, UK.
- Dr. Gianna Williams: former Director of the Adolescents Department, at the Tavistock Clinic,
London, UK.
- Maureen Fox, MA: from the Child and Family Department of the Tavistock Clinic.
- Dr. Lyndra Bills: Mental Health Medical Director of the Lancaster General Hospital author of
Trauma Art.

- Guadalupe Prieto, MA: Professor of Psychology at the Universidad de las Américas, Puebla, Mexico.
