To whom do we attend?

JUCONI seeks out and provides personalized support to society’s most vulnerable children and families trapped in toxic cycles of both family violence and chronic poverty.

Frequently, this population is so socially marginalized that it becomes “invisible” and well beyond the reach of traditional programs. These children face severe challenges to stay in school, create and maintain functional relationships, and otherwise enjoy a healthy childhood. As a result, many take to street-involvement as a means of refuge and survival. Street involvement, while extremely detrimental to the healthy development of a child, also serves as a beacon for the JUCONI program. It allows JUCONI to identify and contact these children that would otherwise remain hidden in their exclusion. JUCONI first contacts the children working or living in the street and gradually gains access to their siblings and parents.

JUCONI works with 350 children and their families every year via its 3 sub-programs:

  1. Program for street-living boys and their families.
  2. Program for street-working girls and boys and their families.
  3. Program for market-working girls and boys and their families.
While these 3 programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of their distinct populations, each is guided by the overriding JUCONI methodology that heals and prevents family violence.
