Violence, poverty and children

Poverty is undoubtedly one of Mexico’s biggest challenges; one that leaves millions of children in unacceptable conditions, without opportunities for healthy development or access to basic human rights. Another serious challenge is the increased family violence in Mexico. Thousands of boys and girls are trapped in chronic cycles of poverty and violence.

According to UNICEF, 24 million mexicans live in extreme poverty.

According to the government census, 1 in 3 homes in mexico suffer from domestic violence.

Without society’s help, children raised in these conditions have little hope of escaping this vicious cycle. They are very likely to remain trapped, only to one day repeat the same patterns of violence with their own children.
